C MELODY BARITONE MODEL

The 6-string C Melody Spectra Sonic features a 3-piece Maple neck with 29.25-inch scale, and 22 frets joined at the 16th fret. The African Padauk fingerboard has off-white dot inlays with corresponding side dots. A chambered Alder body with laminated Spruce top measures 15.25-inches wide and 1.875-inches deep. Other features include an aluminum Bigsby tailpiece, TV Jones Magna'Tron neck, and TV Classic bridge pickups, adjustable bridge, master volume, master tone, and 3-way pickup selector.

The C Melody is essentially a baritone guitar, but is designed to permit ripping lead solo's, and crystal clear low frequencies. To make this possible , we shortened the usually longer scale length below 30"s, designed special Filter'Tron pickups, and a custom wiring harness. The C Melody's style is borrowed from the classic TV Jones Spectra-Sonic guitar. It features a Bigsby B-11 vibrato, nickel ABR-1 Tune-o-Matic bridge, Sperzel non-locking tuners, and TV Jones Filter'Trons. We use a set of D'Addario 10's without the first string, and add a.060" for the bass string (.013"w/ .017"w/ .026"w/ .036"w/ .046"w/ .060"w). This unique guitar can be seen and heard on the Brian Setzer Orchestra Live in Japan DVD and we hope you can experience the C Melody at a BSO concert near you.

The C Melody is tuned : highC -1/ G -2/ E b -3/ B b -4/ F - 5/ lowC -6 , and works well with horns, which are tuned in different keys (popular Tenor sax/trumpet keys: C, D, G, A, popular alto sax/baritone sax keys: G, A, D, E. Translated into piano/guitar keys: B b, C, F, G. On the C Melody, these are great guitar positions. The C Melody is a "horn friendly" instrument.
